The Westin’s Culinary team’s dynamic duo of Chef Farouk Othman , Chef Tournant, and Chef David King , Director - Kitchens (Chef Farouk’s mentor) of The Westin Kuala Lumpur have done Malaysia proud by emerging silver medallist in the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Asia 2008 competition held in Pudong, China recently. The Bocuse d’Or, a competition after the spirit of ’culinary Olympiads’, gathers together chefs from around the world who will ultimately pit their skills against one another in the largest gastronomic arena. Chefs prepare their cuisine ’live’, showcasing a grand theatrical performance for the audience. Chef Farouk Othman bagged the silver trophy in the Epicurean showdown. Along with the two other finalists, he has now qualified to participate in the prestigious biennial Bocuse d’Or finals in Lyon next January. |
